Your event, venue or brand from the perfect angle

Sweeping landscapes or close, moving shots of people and places. Aerial photography and video for events, marketing, promotion and advertising.

What this covers

Aerial work beyond property listings

The same aircraft that photograph a house can open a brand film, show the scale of a festival or put a resort in its landscape. Whether you need sweeping views or intimate close-ups, a drone gives you shots that grab attention and make the viewer feel they are there.

Events. Races, festivals, ceremonies and openings, planned around the crowd, the programme and the airspace. Marketing. Hero images and footage for websites, brochures and campaigns. Promotion. Tourism, hospitality, wineries and venues shown in their setting. Advertising. Footage for broadcast and online, from cinema aircraft with interchangeable lenses and raw recording.

What separates good aerial footage from forgettable footage is planning: the light, the direction of travel, how the shot starts and ends, and where it will be cut. We plan the shots with you, and deliver edited clips as well as the raw files. For listings, see aerial video and social video.

Rules that shape the flight

Flying at events and near people

Flying at events and near people: Illustration
TopicCanadaUnited States
Near and over peopleBasic pilots must stay 30 m from bystanders. Advanced pilots can fly closer, within limits. Flying over people needs an aircraft declared for that use, such as one with a compliant parachute system.Part 107 allows operations over people only with aircraft in the right category, or with a waiver.
Crowds and advertised eventsFlying at an advertised event needs a special flight operations certificate (SFOC) from Transport Canada. Apply well ahead.Crowds and open-air assemblies bring extra restrictions; check the operation category and any local rules.
Controlled airspaceAdvanced certificate and NAV CANADA authorization.LAANC or FAA authorization.
Parks and venuesParks, municipalities and venue owners may have their own permit rules. Ask before the date is fixed. The same; national parks prohibit drone launches.
How it works

From the brief to the final cut

Brief

Tell us the event or campaign, the date, the location and where the footage will be used.

Permissions

We check airspace, the venue's rules and whether an SFOC is needed, and apply early when it is.

Shot list

Agreed shots with timing, light and movement, and a backup plan for weather.

Shoot

Flown by an Advanced-certified crew with a visual observer where crowds are nearby.

Deliver

Edited clips and stills for review, then the finals and raw files on one project record.

Permissions left too late

An advertised event needs Transport Canada approval, and the venue may need its own permit.

Great shots, wrong format

Questions

Questions

Can you fly over the crowd at our event?

Only where the rules allow it. Flying at an advertised event in Canada needs a special flight operations certificate, and flying over people needs an aircraft suited to it. We tell you at the brief what is possible and apply for what is needed.

Do you edit the footage?

Yes. You receive edited clips and stills to review, and the raw files for your own editors.

What if it rains on the day?

Some aircraft can fly in light rain; heavy rain and strong wind ground them. We plan alternative shots and, where the date can move, a backup date.
